A True Love Story That I Know You Will Enjoy

Good morning ladies. Let's have some tea while I tell you a love story.

There was one time a little girl who so very much loved to play and have tea with my friends. Of course it was only pretend tea and of course there was the pretence of a castle and a PRINCE. Now I never met this prince while I was little but the time would come and come it did.

While I was in the 7th. grade I was in the Jr. High band and the band members were to meet on a Sat. at the High school to sell candy for the band so that we could get new uniforms.

I was to ride with 5 other people one of them being a very handsome young man driving and in the 10th. grade at the time. His name was that of Larry Patton Birt. I just could not keep my eyes off of him. I kept thinking that this is the most handsome MAN I have ever seen in my life. "I was only 13 at the time."

After that was over with we did not see each other again until I was in the 9th. grade. Of course I still thought about him all the time. I just kind of knew that my prince had arrived. I was in the hospital and saw his parents and ask how Larry was doing? They seemed shocked that I knew their son and of course they told me he was fine and was visiting a friend of his and would let him know I was in the hospital myself and send him in. Well I did a little bit of primping and finally he walked in and I thought to myself that this was the one. "Of course that was after I could breath again." We talked again and then he left. Well, I did not get to see him again until I was in the 11th. grade. He was home from the service for a visit only I did not know this at the time.

There was a function at the school that I was ask to attend with a young man and my wonderful mother told me that I could go only I had to double date. Well the young man that I was to go with fixed it all up and guess who we double dated with. That is correct. The one and only Larry Patton Birt. He took his best friends girl as he was in the service also and could not make it home like Larry did and ask him to be her excort. So Larry and Eyvone was our double date along with Larry's sweet sister Janice. We had a wonderful time except that my heart was breaking that Larry was with that other woman and not with me. :} :}

When it was all over Tom took me home and we all said good night and they drove off with my heart with Larry not Tom.

I did not see him again until I was in the 12th. grade and it was just to see him walking out of the High School where he had been visiting some friends and teachers with his Air Force Uniform on. I ran after him but the bell rang and I ended up going back to class. It was not until that summer August 26th that this Prince of mine pulled up in front of our home and as soon as I saw the car I knew who it was. I had been on my hands and knees cleaning the kitchen floor and then waxing it when I heard the car. When I got up and saw who it was I ran to the bath room and combed my hair, pinched my cheeks and did a quick smile in the morrow and went to the door. Forgetting that I had been on my knees and that they were very red and kind of dirty..

Since mother was visiting a friend up the road a little and dad was not home I went out on the porch and when I saw him I just stopped and in my head I said " You don't know it yet but we are getting married." That was on August 26th. 1965. Our first date we went bowling and then stopped and got something to eat afterwards. We had a wonderful time and when he said good night to me I knew he wanted to kiss me but instead I shook his hand and thanked him for a wonderful time. Now do you really think I wanted to shake his hand. NOT!!! But I was raised by a Godly mother who taught me how to be a lady. So we did not have our first kiss until the next day. :} :} I knew that this was the one for me and on Oct. 22nd. 1965 we eloped and have been together in love for all this time. It will be 42 years this Oct. and I still have my price. Only he is now my King with a little K for the real King in my live is the Lord Jesus Christ. He kept me clean and pure while I waited on my beloved to come along.

I hope you have enjoyed this little love story as I have loved remembering it. I love to talk about it.

May God bless your sweet day in the Lord today and everyday.

I was wondering if you'd tell the part about your red knees. That's funny.

I'm glad you waited until your second date to kiss.
